A historical Hollywood mystery solved at Lake Tahoe!
Headline: “A 90 year old Hollywood location mystery confirmed in Alpine Meadows!”
High above Lake Tahoe, in the fall of 1935, the beautiful Jeanette MacDonald-Nelson Eddy duet “Indian Love Call” was filmed next to a tree for the movie Rose Marie. This was their second movie together after the earlier sleeper hit of 1935, Naughty Marietta.
That movie, with Nelson as a Mountie, and that song is the one best remembered and most associated with them.
Read the story of how the tree was located, miraculously still standing in 2025, at this link.
