Announcing the updated Jeanette & Nelson maceddy.com website!

At very long last!

I’m happy to announce that maceddy.com, the dedicated Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy website, has undergone a complete overhaul!

The site, once content-heavy, has been reorganized and is now much easier to navigate. If you’re a fan, it’s well worth visiting or revisiting. In the screenshot below, for instance, there’s a photo from Maytime that captures the closest pink tint to what was originally shown in 1937 movie theaters. Only the Mayday sequences featured this tint—both the flashback scene where Jeanette steps out of the carriage at the Mayday fair and meets Nelson, continuing through to her emotional departure, as well as her scenes as an elderly woman, including the moment she dies and Nelson reappears.

There’s now a dedicated section called “Sweethearts Documentation”, featuring newly surfaced photos and information that have come to light since the book was published. These materials are organized by chapter, making it easy to explore updates related to specific parts of the story. This section is updated frequently — and in fact, you’ll find new additions throughout the entire website.

If you previously signed up for the occasional email newsletter, I kindly ask that you visit the site and sign up again. We’ve changed email servers, and many addresses were lost or altered in the transition.

Please note that some of my books — and all original issues of Mac/Eddy Today, including current releases — are available exclusively at maceddy.com. This is due to special trim sizes (oversized formats) or binding types (magazine, hardcover, etc.). If you’d like your books signed, all orders must be placed through the website, with an “order note” specifying the name to sign them to.

Finally, even if you’re already a member of the Mac/Eddy Facebook group — or if you prefer not to use social media — I encourage you to sign up for events directly on the new website. This ensures you’ll receive timely email updates. For example, in 2026 we’re planning a group trip to Lake Tahoe to revisit the Rose Marie filming locations. Additional events may take place in Washington, D.C., and possibly one or two other cities.

Below is a list of items available only at maceddy.com:

Jeanette MacDonald: A Pictorial Treasury (updated 50th anniversary edition)
The Poetic Memories series (8 Volumes). It’s highly recommended to at least have Volume 1, which provides a comprehensive, documented, photo-filled chapter at how Irene Scott came to get the Isabel Eddy letters.
The Mac/Eddy Today glossy print magazines.

Be sure to check the website for out-of-print titles, one-of-a-kind items, and other unique offerings.

Enjoy exploring the new site — there’s so much to discover and learn!
