What’s so special about that? Because she’d had a stroke before I met her, and according to naysayers, she was basically a blithering idiot who couldn’t tell me anything about her sister’s life. As I have patiently and tirelessly explained over the years, she was indeed able to speak, we made do, and I made sure I fully understood what she said, repeating it back to her for verification. Again, I was not the first person she discussed her sister’s life with, but I was the one who agreed to do something about it.
Putting aside her more famous sibling, Blossom’s friendship was dear to me, she was like my Auntie Mame. For decades, I kept that bottle of Chanel #5 she gave me when I graduated high school. A couple years later when I met the young man I wanted to marry, I took him to meet her, because she wanted to give her approval, which she did. I’m thrilled in 2025 to see Blossom finally vindicated in an undeniable way. Thank you, Katie, for sharing this groundbreaking discovery, and for writing an important and informative article. And thanks to Angela Messino for digitalizing the sound clip. Here’s the link for your enjoyment!
